FORGE — Game Dev Studio Project 01 Level 1 · Logic Game

Guess the Number 1–100

The computer is hiding one secret number. Your job: find it before your attempts run out. Every wrong guess earns two clues — a direction (too high / too low) and a temperature (how close you are). Find it fast and the score climbs.

How to Play

Understood in 60 seconds
  1. Pick a difficulty. The computer then draws one secret number inside that range.
  2. Type a guess and press Guess or Enter. A correct guess never costs an attempt.
  3. A wrong guess costs 1 attempt and returns two clues: direction (too high / too low) and temperature (how far off you are).
  4. The possible-range bar shrinks with every clue — numbers outside it can no longer be the secret.
  5. Repeating a number you already guessed is free — but it earns no new clue either.
  6. Win by finding the number before attempts run out. Score = attempts left × 100, plus a speed bonus (100 − 10 per guess, minimum 0), times the difficulty multiplier.
  7. Lose and the secret is revealed, with your closest guess shown so the next round starts smarter.

NOTE 01

The Core Loop

Guess → read two clues → narrow the range → guess again. The loop resolves in under ten seconds, so the player is always one decision away from the next piece of feedback.

NOTE 02

Layered Feedback

Every guess answers on five channels at once: direction text, temperature, a moving meter, a shrinking range bar, and a board shake sized to the miss — small for close, large for far. Sound is a sixth channel, and it can be muted.

NOTE 03

Chosen Difficulty

Three modes let the player set their own challenge instead of the game guessing for them: Casual to learn, Classic as designed, Expert with three fewer attempts and a 1.5× score multiplier as the reward for the risk.

NOTE 04

Score & Streaks

Score rewards what the player controls: attempts saved and speed. A session best score and win streak sit above the board, so "one more round" always has a target attached to it.
